Otto is a personal health and wellbeing coach for iPhone and Apple Watch, published by Otto Health (“we”). This policy explains what data Otto handles and how.
The short version: your health data stays on your device. Otto has no server, no account system and no third-party analytics. We cannot see your training, your sleep or anything else about you.
Data Otto processes on your device
Otto stores the following information locally on your iPhone and, when you use one, your Apple Watch:
- Your onboarding answers, preferences and physical limitations.
- Your training cycles, completed sessions, progression levels, milestones and experiment results.
- Meal check-ins limited to whether a meal contained a clear protein source, and your optional eating window.
- With your permission, health data read from Apple Health: steps, workouts, exercise minutes, walking distance and sleep. Otto reads these to adapt your plan. Otto never writes health data it did not create, and never transmits health data anywhere.
All of this remains in the app's private storage and in your device backups under the protections Apple provides. Deleting the app deletes the data.
Data that leaves your device
None, with two narrow exceptions that are controlled by Apple, not by us:
- Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive no payment details.
- If you have opted in to sharing analytics with app developers in iOS settings, Apple sends us aggregated crash and performance reports through Apple's MetricKit. These contain technical diagnostics only, never health information.
What we deliberately do not do
Otto does not use advertising, tracking, fingerprinting or third-party analytics SDKs. Otto does not build behavioural profiles. Otto does not ask for your weight, body measurements or calorie counts.
Notifications
Otto asks permission before sending notifications and respects the quiet hours and limits you configure. You can revoke permission at any time in iOS settings.
Your choices
You can decline Apple Health access and every part of Otto keeps working. You can stop or pause anything Otto suggests. You can delete the app at any time, which removes all locally stored data.
Children
Otto is intended for users aged 16 and over.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version ships with the app update and the date above changes.
